A visual identity for very delicate brand

Brand Identity Design: Margaret & Wolfe Floral Boutique

I collaborated on the development of a comprehensive visual identity for Margaret & Wolfe. This project involved designing a unique aesthetic language, inspired by Japanese paper-cutting (Kirie) and refined typography, to communicate the brand’s core values of simplicity and delicacy. The process included the creation of a bespoke logo suite and a cohesive colour palette, establishing a professional foundation for the brand’s market presence.

Problem

Upon initial engagement, the brand lacked a defined visual identity, which prevented consistent customer recognition. The entrepreneur was using disparate imagery and unmotivated typography, which created a fragmented aesthetic that failed to reflect the quality of her artisanal floral work. There was no established logo or colour system, making it difficult for the brand to stand out or communicate a premium, curated image to her audience.

Solution

I developed a refined visual system centred around a neutral green colour palette, carefully selected to complement and harmonise with the natural textures of her floral arrangements. I designed a primary logo featuring elegant, slender typography paired with minimalist graphical elements inspired by Japanese cut-out aesthetics. This revitalised visual toolkit ensures consistency across all brand touchpoints, transforming the brand from an uncoordinated presence into a sophisticated and instantly recognisable boutique identity.
